Frequently Asked Questions

No, the shipping labels should not expire. Your subscription gives you one label per month. On average, most households create about one SPC block per month, so that's the pace we plan for.
However, we understand that soft plastic use can vary. Sometimes it takes longer to fill a block, and that's totally fine. You're welcome to use your label when the block is ready, even if it's after a month.

That said, please note:
• Technically, USPS does not set a strict expiration date, but some post offices may refuse to scan older labels, depending on their internal policies.
• So, while you can definitely use a label after a month, we recommend doing so within a month of receiving it to avoid any issues.

We don’t recommend it. While it might seem like a convenient option, most retail plastic bag recycling programs are designed for loose, clean film plastics like grocery bags or bread bags, not compressed blocks. These bins are typically serviced by third-party contractors with automated systems that aren’t equipped to process dense, mixed-material blocks like those from your SPC.

Even more concerning, most soft plastics dropped off at retail locations aren’t actually recycled. According to a 2022 Greenpeace report, the majority of plastic collected through store take-back programs ends up in landfills or incinerators. The report found that not a single location provided verifiable evidence that post-consumer plastic film was recycled into new products at scale.

In contrast, when you send your SPC block using our prepaid mailer, it’s delivered directly to a certified U.S.-based recycling facility that turns it into high-quality raw materials for durable goods, not waste. It’s part of a real, traceable, closed-loop system.

So, for the sake of transparency, impact, and peace of mind: send it back, don’t drop it off.

The majority of plastic waste today isn't recycled, and greenwashing has made it hard to know which solutions are truly making a difference. That’s exactly why we built Clear Drop. We’re proud to share that our SPC (Soft Plastic Compactor) blocks are guaranteed to be recycled, not sent to landfills or shipped overseas.

Here’s how it works:

We work with professional, verified recycling partners in the U.S., including Frankfort Plastics Inc., based in Indiana.

  • They receive SPC blocks directly from our customers, then chop, clean, and process them into usable plastic feedstock.
  • These materials are then used to create new products like outdoor furniture, industrial supplies, and more.

Nothing is landfilled or incinerated, not only for environmental reasons, but because there’s real economic value in these compacted materials.

The entire cycle stays within the U.S. No exports, no unknown outcomes.

Each SPC block weighs approximately 3.3 lbs (1.5 kg) and is quite dense, making it a solid material. While our primary goal wasn’t construction, we work with recyclers to turn the material into new products, and we love seeing the creative ways people reuse it.

So, while we don’t specifically create it for structural builds like patios, we fully support your creative mind! If you decide to experiment, we’d love to see what you come up with.
